About Me
I am a Chartered Accountant by profession and a changemaker by passion. I have served as the Accountant General of the Republic of Namibia and Head of State Accounts. I was also the youngest female partner at both Swart Grant Angula (SGA) and KPMG, and the youngest non-executive Director in the history of the Central Bank of Namibia.
I have been recognized by the World Economic Forum as Namibia’s 1st Young Global Leader (YGL) in 2015. I am a Desmond Tutu Fellow, a member of the WEF Global Future Council, and a Dangote Foundation Fellow. I was also awarded the Africa Business Woman of the Year in 2015 for my garment manufacturing brand “My Republik”.
I have been recognized by the US State Department as an up-and-coming entrepreneur. I was invited to give a talk by the World Bank in Washington DC, and I serve on corporate boards in Kenya, Africa, and Toronto, Canada.
I was appointed by the Former President of Namibia to serve as a Non-executive Director of the Bank of Namibia. I was also appointed by the Minister of Mines and Energy to the Boards of Namcor and Namcor Trading. I have chaired the MTC Listing Steering Committee, served as a Committee Chairperson of the Public Private Partnership Committee at the Ministry of Finance, and more.
I have attended several prestigious institutions for various leadership and business programs. These include Harvard Kennedy School, WITS Business School, Harvard Business School, London Business School, and Gordon Institute of Business.
My vision is a flourishing economy in a vibrant society for a better life for every Namibian. I believe in an inclusive government of national unity, and I am committed to creating opportunities for all Namibians to thrive and prosper right here in our beautiful Namibia.
My campaign is centered around the hashtags #LiveThePromise and #aBetterLife4AllNamibians. These represent my commitment to improving the lives of all Namibians and fulfilling the promise of a prosperous and inclusive Namibia.
Leadership
I have held various leadership roles throughout my career. I was the Accountant General of the Republic of Namibia and Head of State Accounts, the youngest female partner at Swart Grant Angula (SGA) and KPMG, and the youngest non-executive Director in the history of the Central Bank of Namibia. I have also served on corporate boards in Kenya, Africa, and Toronto, Canada.
In each of these roles, I have strived to bring about positive change and progress. For instance, as the Chairperson of Namcor Trading, I worked closely with the Minister of Mines and Energy to ensure the company's success. I also spearheaded the purchase of the remaining 34% of Namibia’s biggest telecommunication company, MTC, which led to the biggest corporate listing in the history of the Namibian Stock Exchange.
I believe a President should be visionary, innovative, and action-oriented. They should be able to inspire and motivate others, make tough decisions when necessary, and always act in the best interest of the people they serve. I also believe in the importance of inclusivity and unity in leadership, as I have always said, "A truly inclusive government of national unity is the only feasible way to effectively govern a nation, like our Namibia, that is made up of many tribes. Because our diversity is our strength."
If elected, I plan to lead with integrity, transparency, and a commitment to improving the lives of all Namibians. I will work tirelessly to create opportunities for all Namibians to thrive and prosper right here in our beautiful Namibia. My administration will focus on restoring the dignity of the Namibian people, generating jobs, and securing the future for our children.
I believe in the power and potential of our youth, which is why I often say, "We are the Brave Generation." I plan to involve the youth in my leadership by creating opportunities for them to engage in meaningful work, contribute to policy-making, and participate in decision-making processes. I also plan to invest in their education and skills development to prepare them for the future.
Entrepreneurship
I have a rich history of entrepreneurship. I've been recognized by the World Economic Forum as Namibia’s 1st Young Global Leader (YGL) in 2015, and I've been awarded as Namibia’s Emerging Entrepreneur by Windhoek Observer. I've also been recognized by the US State Department as an up-and-coming entrepreneur.
Absolutely. I've been involved in various industries, including garment manufacturing for the brand "My Republik", which won me the Africa Business Woman of the Year award in 2015. I've also been involved in farming, where I've applied innovative techniques to improve productivity and sustainability.
I believe in the power of the informal economy and its potential to drive growth and create jobs. I've worked to support this sector in various ways, including advocating for reduced import VAT to support our "Order with me" & Cross border Namibian traders, and the re-introduction of Equipment & Machinery purchase Scheme.
My vision is to create an environment where entrepreneurs can thrive. I believe in supporting Micro, Small, and Medium Size Businesses (MSMEs) and I plan to introduce a standalone dedicated Ministry with a dedicated service hall for rapid response to support these businesses. I also plan to position Namibia as No.1 in the region in Frontier technologies, developing our national IT skills and capacities to bridge the digital divide and create jobs for our young people.
I plan to generate jobs through aggressive investments into climate-smart Agricultural for high-value crops with the aim to export these and create permanent jobs. I also plan to focus on the Village economies driven by investing in the commercialization of indigenous products, including our local arts and crafts, with the aim of export. I believe that the film industry has massive potential for new jobs to be generated as our landscape is an economic heritage.
My entrepreneurial ventures have not only created jobs but also contributed to the community in various ways. For instance, my garment manufacturing venture, "My Republik", has helped to boost the local fashion industry and provided employment opportunities. Similarly, my involvement in farming has contributed to food security and rural development.
Visionary
My vision is of a flourishing economy in a vibrant society, where every Namibian has a better life. I envision a Namibia where our diversity is our strength, where opportunities are created for all to thrive and prosper right here in our beautiful country.
I believe that a leader must have a clear and compelling vision for the future, and the ability to communicate that vision to others. I have a track record of innovative thinking and action, from my work in the financial sector to my entrepreneurial ventures. I am always looking ahead, thinking about how we can improve and build a better future for all Namibians.
My vision for Namibia will be implemented through a government of national unity that is truly inclusive. This government will focus on restoring the dignity of the Namibian people, generating jobs, and securing the future. We will prioritize education, healthcare, affordable housing, and access to basic necessities like food, water, and electricity. We will also support the growth of businesses, particularly in the micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise sector, to stimulate economic growth and job creation.
I understand the urgent need to address the high cost of living in Namibia. To alleviate this, I plan to implement measures such as removing VAT on all basic food items and water, removing fuel levies that subsidize Namcor, and increasing the old age pension to N$2500. These measures will help to make everyday living more affordable for all Namibians.
To secure the future, I plan to make constitutional amendments to guarantee the birthright of Namibians to national natural resources. I also plan to invest in quality education for all children, reintroduce sports into all of our schools, and send out 5000 young Namibians every year for the next 5 years to get skilled up in different countries. This is our investment in securing the future of Namibia.
I believe that the Namibian people are integral to the realization of this vision. I encourage everyone to get involved, to voice their ideas and concerns, and to participate actively in shaping our future. Together, we can live the promise of a better life for all Namibians. We are the brave generation.
